New brand, who this?

Hello friends! If you’re reading this it mean you’ve found my brand new website! I wanted to take a moment to explain why the big change and what this means.

L'AMOUR FOU

I created L’amour Fou when I was 17 years old. I took 3 years of french in high school and I remember 2 things: “L’amour Fou” and “Puija aller aux toilette” (may I go to the bathroom). L’amour Fou translates to “insane/crazy love”. Which is still something that resonates with me and my approach in photographing weddings and portraits. I’m still searching for these passionate filled and adventurous moments, but this name and brand just doesn't serve me anymore.  One of my biggest problems with L’amour Fou was almost NO ONE says it correctly the first time (read: la-more foo). This made me hard to remember and harder for my clients to share! Not what I wanted at all.

SWOONSTRUCK

This year was huge for me as an artist. I made huge strides in developing my personal style and business practices and I needed a new look and feel that matched where I was going with photography.

When I first started, I began with a name and all that other stuff came later. Things like what kind of pictures I liked to take and what kind of clients I liked working with seemed minor. When creating Swoonstruck, the foundation was laid and the direction was set before the aesthetics of the brand came into play. I wanted my new name to be memorable and to invoke feelings. It’s how you feel when you talk about your passions. It’s the feeling of butterflies when you see your partner on your wedding day. It’s how I want you to feel when you see images of you and your new husband or wife in all of your goofy, loving glory.

I worked with an amazing team of graphic and web designers who perfectly received and executed a list of my needs and desires for my new brand. If you are someone who is starting a new business, I highly suggest that you get some outside help developing your identity. I know this can seem so expensive and unnecessary. But as a business owner, you’ll find out that you are not always the most qualified person for every job within your own business. You will thank yourself later.

I want to thank you for following me through from the beginning and into this new and exciting chapter. I can hardly sit still when I think about this coming year and all the opportunities it holds!
