Richie and Anissa were married on top of the Nevada Museum of Art in an event that just dripped modern elegance. Watching them move together through a building meant to house beautiful works of art, felt like I was watching a living exhibit.
Anissa is honestly not-of-this-world beautiful. But she is so much more than that. She is classic, rooted in family and most importantly- kind. Her laid-back attitude as she touched up her own makeup and joked with her aunt as she finished her curls reminded me of what she already knew- today wasn’t about the dress, the hair, or any other extravagance. It was about her and Richie’s love, and all of the people who were there to celebrate it.
They truly don’t make them like Richie anymore. He is the type that worships his woman, respects his mom and dad, laughs hard with his friends, and lives fully in every moment. These two are what old hollywood love stories are made of.
One thing that really stuck out to me about this wedding was how much took place at night. I rarely play with portraits at night and this evening pushed me out of my comfort zone. But I am truly obsessed with the results. This rare combination of lovers, venue, and opportunity deserved something out of the ordinary and I think we pulled it off! It is so exciting to me to think we made images that are true to my style and art, but unlike anything in my portfolio. The Martinez Wedding was an edgy and editorial dream!
Sure, these guys were here to serve GQ levels of effortless fashion on their wedding day, but they were also here to freakin’ party! I’ve never stayed at a wedding so late and it was because the fun just didn’t let up. A perfect blend of modern bangers and traditional Mexican party songs from Amplified Entertainment had me dancing behind my camera all night!
Anissa and Richie, your wedding was perfect. It was beautiful, moving, fun, and insanely unique. Please hire me for your vow renewals so we can do all of this again!
